Svea Solar's ecosystem is a range of complex energy products and services that are interconnected. They need to be stored and managed in a user-friendly way by our internal Support Agents. The goal of the project was to align the platform with Svea Solar’s new UI and Design System, ensuring visual consistency and a more intuitive experience.
In parallel, I collaborated closely with our Support Agents to understand their daily workflows and pain points. Based on their input, I created user stories that highlight key improvements needed in the platform. Focusing on usability, efficiency, and supporting the tasks they perform most frequently.
I began by reviewing the existing platform to understand how the structure and features worked. Through that, I identified some pain points and technical constraints. One common pain point is that addresses sometimes were duplicated in the system. This bug was difficult to resolve in the code and needed a feature implementation for our Support Agents to manually remove them. If the address was duplicated, both were showing up in the App.
The images above highlight the new improvement. I wanted to create a light adjustment similar to what the Agents already were working with. Now, they can merge addresses by clicking open a pop-up. As it's not a main action, I designed the UI of the button to be subtle and secondary. In the pop-up, they can select the addresses and choose to rename it. A technical restraint hindered the address to be automatically updated in Salesforce. For this reason, I created an alert banner at the bottom to remind the user's of this. This banner is generic and can be used in other parts of the platform for consistency.
The updated Back Office platform now reflects Svea Solar’s new brand identity and Design System, offering a more cohesive and user-friendly interface. Many of the UI elements are the same as the App's. Support Agents benefit from an improved experience simplifying or enabling many of their tasks. The platform is now better aligned with both user needs, setting a solid foundation for future iterations.
